Sistema El Cangrejo
Bayahibe, Dominican Republic
Sistema Cangrejo is located in the Parque del Este, access is by boat only and takes about 25 minutes form Bayahibe.
Access is difficult and after the boat ride a hike through uninviting jungle is necessary to get to the main entrance. Everything in this jungle cuts, bites, burns and stings.
The cave is an extensive network of tunnels and made up of rock collapse and there is a pronounced hallocline throughout the entire cave and nasty silt outs from percolation are the norm.
