Wasp In Eye

Boca de Yuma, Dominican Republic

This short cave is a massive tunnel near Boca de Yuma. Hundreds of wasp nests guard both entrances. Inside has several unique formations, and also a rim stone dam filled with hundreds of bat bones. There are no leads left in this cave. Wasp-In-Eye Cave was named after an unfortunate encounter by the first cavers. Locals have known about the cave, but never named it and it is rarely, if ever, visited.
