Jardin Oriental

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

A short distance from the Caribbean Sea and surrounded by amazing vegetation is La Cueva Rio Brujuela, located at Km 22 of the Las Américas Highway, entering the street Zona Franca Las Americas and the Hotel Quality, in the private Residential Paseo de Oriental Garden, Calle Duranta esq. Magnolia. La Caleta, Municipality of Boca Chica, Dominican Republic.

Fundación Bidica Inc., has rescued and renovated this cave’s access, creating infrastructures made up of a parking area, private security, reception, kiosk for meetings, cemented corridors, wooded areas that preserve native fauna and flora, cemented and illuminated stairways that give access to the two caves: Cueva Higuayagua, and Rio Brujuela, with its crystalline waters.

This cave was discovered and dived for the first time by the French diver Dennis Bourret, who makes the following description: The main line starts right at the entrance and the first section is very large , the walls disappear in some parts, visibility is excellent throughout the system.

The line has a series of T's and passes through various tunnels and collapses. This cave has very sharp rocks shaped like Swiss cheese. There are huge abysses where it is difficult to see the walls due to the size of the place, this abyss reaches a depth of 30 meters and continues to the bottom towards the unknown.

For the personal safety of Diving lovers, the Bidica Inc. Foundation, responsible for the protection and conservation, has arranged that only Certified Divers can access the use and enjoyment of this wonder of nature. For such purposes, it has organized a mobile communication line for reservations through the number 1 (809) 856-6168, email fundacionbidica@gmail.com, office 809-685-1875/77.
