Sistema La Negra

Sistema Cueva Negra is located in the parque del Este approximately 3 kilometers northeast of Cangrejo. As with Cangrejo, access is by boat only and also requires a hike in the jungle.

 

The main entrance is a large sinkhole and access is fairly easy. 

Cueva Negra is extremely decorated everywhere and has many restrictions some requiring the removal of at least one tank, making this a side mount only cave.

 

The cave is very dark and tannic stained decorations are the norm here,

it is also very silty and loss of visibility due to percolation in some parts

is common.
